Roberta
Roberta suffered a life changing brain injury that erased her memory from October 2010 to March 2011. She can recall being referred to IHI housing from OHSU and most of her childhood, but the rest is hit or miss. In addition to her brain injury and memory loss, Roberta is battling Lupus. Having a stable home and IHI support services has created a low stress environment that is important for Roberta as she manages her Lupus symptoms.

When asked what Resident Services has done for her, Roberta says, "Well let's begin with the fact that my entire outfit is from your (resident services) office!" In addition to providing direct resources like clothing and bus tickets to get to medical appointments, IHI has provided Roberta with referrals to community organizations that helped her furnish her room and access Pet Food Stamps for her very important companion animal. Roberta also appreciates all the mental health support she gets from IHI staff, who are on-site and available for her to talk with when she is dealing with a problem or just wants to share what's on her mind.
