Rolydia
Rolydia is a single mother who works full time. Recently she had to take time off from work due to health complications. Suddenly she found herself with an income gap that made it difficult for her to keep up with her rent, bills, and basic needs. When she turned to IHI's Resident Services Coordinator she was unsure how she was going to survive the month. IHI staff advocated for Rolydia and helped her negotiate a formal leave of absence with her employer, protecting her job in the future. Resident Services also worked with Rolydia to identify and refer her to community partners that provided rental assistance and several food boxes so she and her daughter had food during her financial crisis. Rolydia lacked access to transportation so Resident Services gave her bus tickets to meet with local agencies and get to necessary medical appointments. With IHI's support, Rolydia got through a very tough month and now reports that her health is improving, she is back at work, and she and her daughter are doing well!
